Gamla Gefle - The Old Town

Well-preserved wooden houses from the 1700’s are to be found in the old town of Gefle. The town blocks are small and the cobble-stone streets genuine. There is a lot of history surrounding the old town which has survived many of the town’s fires.

Nowadays many of the town’s craftspeople and artists live here. One is Gunnar Cyrén. He has designed the Nobel Service Set and is a renowned glass and silver designer. He works for, amongst others, Orrefors.
